We’re thinking about doing some extended traveling in a Lance 1172 and I’m curious how you mount your porta-bote hull, seats, transom and outboard. We had a 10′ portab-bote on our 44′ sailboat with a 6 hp Suzuki that mounted to one of the sailboat’s side rails. The seats and transom were sizeable and difficult to store inconspicuously. So I’ve been thinking an 8′ model might be better on the Lance…and then I see you have a 12 footer! Holy smokes!! Thanks for any insights/suggestions.

We are traveling full time also and I was searching for boondocking sites in Lassen National Forest, your blog came up and I enjoyed reading it.

Susan – we have the GPS coordinates to the place we boondocked. It was nice – just off the paved road that runs through the park. Let me know if you want me to email it to you. Are you going to hike the cave?
