Excitement after buying new Lance 1172 camper

couch with footrests!!!

After two years full timing in our Truck Camper, we wanted to put our feet up.  Kind of an odd reason to break out and buy a new TC but we

knew after two years we didn’t want to give up the flexibility of a TC.  So after checking out the other BIG campers that had seats with footrests, we stayed with the Lance.  The 1172 is finished so well it really does seem like a home.  We ordered new so we could get the options we wanted, solar panel, generator (even though we never used our other one), and keyless entry were our top reasons.

new storage door for sewer hose

Because of the other 1172 owners that listed their issues on Lance Owners of America forum, we knew the sewer hose storage was an issue.  So Capt PJ met us at the

dealer and within 30 minutes of buying our new camper, we were sawing a hole in the side.  Sure puckered us up!  Good thing we had a pro helping us and it went smoothly.

Now we are figuring out how to keep the weight down and reduce ‘stuff’ in our new home.

  1. Hope you love your new camper. I was disappointed not to be able to see any of the photos – they didn’t load in the post for me. Oh well, I’ll probably see the new rig in future posts. Where are you headed? We are going camping for the first time this summer for ten days up to Lake Michigan Recreation Area, north of Ludington. Then, in September/October, were going to head west on US2. Hope to get out to Glacier and Yellowstone.

    Take care.

Glad you are getting in another long trip – probably great timing after the family crowds have thinned out. I’ll be happy to read your posts about the Rec Area – I’ve never been but heard it is beautiful. I read a blog from a guy that goes there for wildlife photos. Speaking of photos, I fixed mine. I was lazy and did copy past and WordPress didn’t like it. When you do Glacier, the Two Medicine area is unusual and beautiful. You can take the shortcut road in because of your size.

    Yay for you two!!
